Our Story

Artistic Director David Ruben saw that there was a void in Portland’s active musical theater scene and approached Managing Director Stevie Boothe with a vision of a true repertory musical theater company. The two committed themselves to making this vision a reality. Undertaking the challenging task of assembling a board of advisors, fundraising, and working the business side from the opposite side of the country, they have somehow managed to balance school with establishing Portland’s newest musical theater company. Both under the age of 22, David and Stevie have been immersed in the theater for as long as they can remember. David grew up working on shows at school and around the community (often behind the scenes directing and producing at an early age), and Stevie grew up ankle biting and performing as a child with the Musical Theater Company, as well as at Lakewood Theater (sans the ankle biting). With incredible passion and drive, they have collaborated to bring to life their vision to fill a void in Portland’s musical theater scene. With your support, this effort will continue into future seasons, and David and Stevie can continue to bring you top-notch performances in good old-fashioned repertory style!
